Each month a member of the GOSOAKY crew presents their favourite item of the season. This time it’s our very own designer Urs, whose life motto is definitely Go Big or Go Bow!
Before we start you must get a bit of an impression of Urs. As head of design she is part of every step of the creative process here at GOSOAKY. Relentlessly energetic and completely devoted to fashion. One thing is certain, you will never catch her wearing anything dull. With an iconic XXL bun perched on the top of her head or a “Cat-In-The-hat” kinda hat and a bunch of gold necklaces that will make you reconsider walking too close to water. And yes bows, she LOVES bows.
So of course, when designing all the GOSOAKY outerwear collections, these quirky adornments just had to be added! This season the bright red and extra girlie and extra, extra cute waterproof coat: LADY BUTTERFLY, sports a whole bunch of bows placed boldly upon the front panel like little presents.
So Urs, what’s up with the bows?
Well.. they’re amazing! I’ve loved them ever since I was a little girl. I think it's the festivity they bring. If you think bows are just for small girls then it's time to reconsider. They might even help you out in a crisis! Like if you are ever stuck with a boring outfit, you just add a bow, and then really go big with it, and you’ve got a wow moment statement. I could wear them any day of the year.

What’s your fav bow moment in fashion?
Definitely the Viktor & Rolf dress that is just one big bunch of bows, it makes me mega happy! But bows have been around for ages of course. King Louis XIV and the Versailles gang loved to rock a good bow and the hyper feminine 1940’s had some lovely looks with bows. Oh yeah and Minnie Mouse of course ;-)
So is SS19 a good time to Go Bow?
It sure is! Although bows are timeless in my opinion. But they are really on trend now for this spring. Bows were all over the runways with Celine, Dries van Noten, Valentino and Maison Margiela, all showing off some ultra cool bow moments.
Just keep your eyes out and you will see them popping up everywhere, shoulders, ponytails, shoes. So much fun!
It’s the perfect statement coat that is functional too. Coated from the inside and with taped seams, this lovely kid’s raincoat is totally waterproof but still breathable.
